THis is to help you make an informed decision on which operating system you want to buy.

32-bit operating systems only support up to 4GB of ram and usally read in the sytem as 3.5GB.
64-bit operating systems such as Vista home basic to vista ultimate vary in there supported amounts of ram.




Now while there is Driver support for the 64-bit systems there at this momment is more driver support for 32-bit systems and the list of 64-bit driver support is growing, infact already most companies do have 64-bit driver support to my understanding.

If you intend on using or buying a system with more then 4GB of ram then you will have to have a 64-bit operating system.
